Aki Shina[]
Aki and Ayaka.
Though loving with all of the Inn's residents, Ayaka is especially doting with Aki. Seeing the boy as small and helpless, Ayaka makes sure that Aki receives the best care and strives for his approval. Ayaka seems to genuinely enjoy his company, and the two have made a habit of going on shopping trips, working out, and even cooking together. On one occasion, Aki nursed Ayaka back to health after she had caught a mild fever, something she was incredibly thankful for. On another occasion, Ayaka personally invited Aki to go to an aquarium with her, a trip the both enjoyed greatly. She affectionately calls him "Akkun" as a sort of pet name.
Despite the two being extremely close, Aki sometimes considers Ayaka's clingy nature and casual nudity to be overbearing. He actively avoids taking baths with her and shields his eyes whenever she is in revealing clothing. During the fireworks festival, Aki threw a small fit and ran away from the group due to Ayaka and several others refusing to give him any space.
It is heavily implied that Ayaka may have feelings for Aki, though this is debatable.

Nana Sunohara[]
The Sunohara Sisters.
Ayaka's younger sister who is also a former resident at the Sunohara Inn. Despite their differences, both appearance and personality wise, the sisters are in good terms. Even when she is no longer a resident of Sunohara Inn, Nana occasionally visits Ayaka especially during the holidays (Summer Vacation and Christmas).

Nishiki Yatsuho[]
Ayaka and Nishiki.
The owner of the Yatsuho Liquor Shop and also Ayaka's friend. As a friend, Ayaka often helps out Nishiki whenever she needs. The two also greatly enjoy drinking together, to the point of getting drunk.
Matsuri Shina[]
Despite Matsuri's brash and hostile demeanor, Ayaka seems to have taken a great liking to her. After being challenged by Matsuri to display her caretaking capabilities, Ayaka begins to affectionately pamper her. After cooking for her, cleaning her ears, brushing her teeth, and laying down with Matsuri, Ayaka joins her for a bath. Here, she tries to convince Matsuri into staying at the Inn forever as a resident, and offers to be her older sister and to spoil her, though Matsuri rejects the offer.
In the manga, Matsuri visits the Inn regularly to see Aki, but usually ends up letting herself be pampered by Ayaka.
