Ayaka Sunohara[]
Aki and Ayaka.
Ayaka is Aki's caretaker and, as a result, the two have an extremely close relationship. In his times of need, Ayaka helps out to the best of her ability, such as comforting him when he is distressed or encouraging him when he is nervous. Wanting to prove himself as a man to her, Aki in turn helps Ayaka in her own times of need. On one occasion, Ayaka caught a cold, causing Aki to skip school to stay home and take care of her. He often accompanies her during shopping trips, wanting to have one-on-one time with her. Overtime, Aki slowly begins to develop feelings towards Ayaka, though whether she feels the same way about him is debatable.
Yuzu Yukimoto[]
Aki and Yuzu.
Out of all of the Inn's residents, Yuzu is closest to Aki in age and thus the two are able to relate to each other more. Unlike most of the residents in the inn, Yuzu is the only person who truly sees him and treats him as a boy. Though initially wary of Aki, she slowly becomes more comfortable around him over time. However, she quickly becomes flustered if in close contact with him. Regardless, it is clear that she has feelings for him.
Sumire Yamanashi[]
One of the three student council students who is also Aki's fellow resident of the inn.
Yuri Kazami[]
Aki and Yuri.
One of three student council students and Aki's fellow resident of the inn. Unlike Yuzu and Sumire, Aki initially sees Yuri as a "normal" person until he is requested (albeit forcefully) to participate her fashion ideas. Yuri's tendencies in fashion is somewhat reminds Aki about Matsuri-his older sister who enjoys teasing him and forces him to dress girl's clothes.
Nana Sunohara[]

Like with Ayaka, Aki is very close with Nana, though his relationship with her is often more turbulent. Acting more as an older sister, Nana often teases Aki and can even hold him with ease due to his small stature. Unlike the other girls of the Inn, who usually refer to Aki using pet names, Nana affectionately calls him Aki. The two have a habit of playing video games together, and Nana is even comfortable enough bringing Aki along on hangouts with her friends. When Nana had to leave the Inn after the summer, Aki was visibly saddened, though he was pleasantly shocked when she ended up returning not long after for a visit.

Matsuri Shina[]
Matsuri is Aki's older sister, and the two got along well when they were young. However, one day Matsuri begun referring to and treating Aki as a girl, often dressing him up in dresses and calling him "Aki-chan". Aki can be quoted saying that he outright hated Matsuri, and his move to the Sunohara Inn was primarily to escape his overbearing sister. When Matsuri arrived at the Sunohara Inn the take Aki back home, he found the confidence to defy her and actually stood his ground against her. While wandering the streets of Tokyo with Aki after stealing him from Ayaka, Matsuri tripped and twisted her ankle. Seeing her in pain, Aki carried Matsuri on his back all the way back to the Inn for medical assistance, reaffirming to her that he is in fact a boy. After this, Matsuri beings referring to Aki as her younger brother again, though she still continues to call him "Aki-chan".

In the anime's 1st episode, unlike Mea however she mistaken Aki as a girl due to his feminine looks.
